ABout Our Club

Capitol City Rifle & Pistol Club was founded in the 1930’s.  We are currently located in Rocky Hill, CT at 100 Dividend Rd.  Our facility consists of a club house, which was member built in 1962-63, with bath room and kitchen facilities. We have a 12 port, 50’ underground range.

Our goals are to provide a safe environment for individuals & families to enjoy the sport of handgun shooting.  In past years Capitol City has sponsored rifle teams for adults & junior shooters, but at the present time there are no sponsored rifle teams or competitions.  Members may shoot .22 caliber rifles on the range.

Members who are interested in NRA Bullseye Shooting are welcome to join the pistol team.  The pistol team participates in the Metropolitan Revolver League  and matches are held from September to April each year with other area clubs.  The club also sponsors a monthly NRA sanctioned pistol tournament, the “Eagle-Beaver 900”, from October through March.  Begun in 1972, this match is one of the oldest continuously held pistol matches in the country.

Capitol City is also affiliated with the Civilian Marksmanship Program, the National Rifle Association and the Connecticut State Rifle & Revolver Association.

The clubhouse and range are open to the membership on a 24/7 basis providing no scheduled events are being held.

From time to time, the Club offers the NRA endorsed pistol course.  There are also NRA certified instructors who teach at the club on a regular basis.  Individuals who need instruction to qualify for the CT State Pistol Permit may contact the club for instruction.

The club also opens its facilities to area Boy Scouts who are seeking to earn their Marksmanship Merit Badge.  Contact us if you know of Scouts who want to earn this merit badge.

Lobbying:  Members are encouraged to participate in the political process in order to protect our Second Amendment rights.
